Wastewater technology

Prozessing of manure, digestate and industrial wastewater

The disposal of manure, digestate and industrial wastewater is expensive and laborious. In many regions there is a strong oversupply of liquid manure and digestate from biogas plants. Food-producing companies generate highly contaminated wastewater. What is needed, therefore, are sustainable solutions that facilitate the transport of residues and reduce nutrient surpluses. ENSPAR has developed a treatment solution for the processing of highly polluted waste water streams of liquid manure, digestate and industrial wastewater.

Concept processing plant

In the processing plant, solids are separated from the water in a multi-stage process. Depending on the requirements, the treatment is supplemented by classical sewage treatment plant technology with nitrification and denitrification or by the proven reverse osmosis process. What remains are solids in varying amounts of water and in reverse osmosis a liquid nutrient concentrate.

The reliable technology convinces users by a high technical plant availability. The system is modularly scalable and can be used economically from as little as 20,000 m³ per year.

Process sequence with reverse osmosis

  1. Flocculation & polymerization
In a mixing unit, raw materials and additives are mixed. This allows a fast reaction time and the economical use of coagulation and / or flocculants. By adding the additives flake fine components and can be easily separated from the water. In addition, the addition of the additives leads to better separation of certain substances and minimizes odor emissions.
  2. pressure filtration In the next step, the pretreated materials are dewatered with a special belt filter press. They are pressed with increasing pressure on a wire belt via different rollers and rollers against a second, water-permeable belt. The result is a dehydrated solid with a TS content of 30%. This can be used as fertilizer, compost, animal bedding or biogas substrate or dried up with the waste heat from the biogas plant.
  3. Flotation & fine filter

The remaining aqueous phase is aerated in a stainless steel flotation tank. Small particles and suspended matter settle on the tank bottom as sludge, which can be reticulated in the process. The remaining solids in the pool are separated by a filter.
  4. Reverse osmosis & ion exchanger
For the final cleaning of the already well-clarified liquid phase, a three-stage reverse osmosis is carried out. The semipermeable membranes of the reverse osmosis unit can deposit 95 to 99% of the dissolved salts and nutrients. The nutrient concentrate obtained can be used as an easy-to-transport liquid fertilizer. The remaining water is cleaned after the reverse osmosis abschießend an ion exchanger and can then be used as process water for various purposes on the system or the water cycle zurückgeführt.einem a stainless steel flotation basin ventilated. Small particles and suspended matter settle on the pelvic floor as sludge, which can be reticulated in the process. The remaining solids in the pool are separated by a filter.

The processing plant convinces by a high quality of technology and conception.

  • Proven technology with high system availability
  • Concentration of nutrients, thereby
    • Increasing transportability
    • Reduction of application costs
  • Enables compliance with the EU restrictive regulations of the new Fertilizer Ordinance at low costs
  • Verringerung der Grund- und Oberflächengewässerbelastung durch Stickstoff und Phosphor
  • Reduction of storage requirements for manure and digestate
  • Approximately 50% of the starting material becomes clean water
  • Solid phase can be sold as mineral fertilizer, agricultural fertilizer, bedding, biogas substrate, compost etc.
  • Designed for slurry from livestock, digestate from biogas plants and industrial waste

Profitable recycling of residues

Tons of organic residues that release methane during decomposition are accumulated in agriculture, food production and wastewater treatment. This gas can contribute significantly to climate change if it is emitted unchecked into the atmosphere.
